File Formats
The eTextbooks created by this program are provided in two file formats: ePub and PDF. The main difference between the two formats is that you can play embedded audio or video within an ePub file, while PDF users will need to click a link to play media externally in a web browser. For our ePub files, we recommend using a more advanced ePub 3 reader, such as Apple Books or Thorium Reader, otherwise they may not display correctly. See our support pages for Apple devices, Windows PCs, and Android devices for further advice and directions.
If you are an instructor seeking to download an eTextbook in order to remix or adapt it, please refer to our Faculty Support page.
